Yes — Nana's offers weekend daycare in Glendale. Our 43rd Ave building is open 24 hours on Saturdays (as on every weekday) and closed Sundays; our Northern building is open 5 AM to midnight every day, Sundays included. Children from 6 weeks to 12 years are welcome at both.

Which building is open on the weekend
Weekend care works the same way as weekday care at Nana's: same programs, same family, same rooms. The only difference is which doors are open.

If you work Sundays, Northern (5 AM to midnight) is the building to plan around. If you need Saturdays, either building works — and a Saturday overnight is at 43rd Ave, which is open 24 hours.
- Peoria building: 10046 N 43rd Ave, Glendale, AZ 85302 — the larger building, licensed for 150 children, open 24 hours Monday through Saturday and closed Sundays and holidays. We call it our Peoria building after the avenue, not the city.
- Northern building: 4910 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301 — the smaller building, licensed for 59 children, open 5 AM to midnight, every day.
Who weekend care is for
Weekend daycare is not a luxury for most of the families who use it. It is how a nurse, a warehouse lead, a store manager or a parent picking up an extra shift keeps working without patching together favours from relatives.
- ✓Parents with a regular Saturday or Sunday shift.
- ✓Parents whose schedule rotates and includes some weekends.
- ✓School-age children whose parents work on non-school days — school-age care runs before school, after school and on weekends.
- ✓Families who need an occasional day: drop-in days are available on Saturdays at both buildings and on Sundays at Northern.

What a weekend day looks like

A weekend day keeps the same shape children know from the week: arrival and social time, tabletop activities, circle time, creative learning, outdoor play when the weather allows, nap for the younger children, then creative arts and free-choice activities. Each age group has its own room and its own routine — infants, one-year-olds, two-year-olds, three-year-olds, pre-kinder and school age.
Meals are provided while your child is in care, so there is no need to pack food unless your child has a special diet the kitchen cannot meet.
Licensed, staffed and watched over
Both buildings are licensed child care centers, licensed and inspected by the Arizona Department of Health Services: Peoria license CDC-14018 and Northern license CDC-12417. Both licenses are public record on AZ Care Check and posted on the wall.
Arizona sets the staff-to-child ratio by age for every licensed center, and we staff to it on Saturdays and Sundays just as on a Tuesday.
- ✓Full-time security guards at both buildings and closely monitored cameras throughout.
- ✓Directors are CPR certified, background checked and hold a CDA credential.
- ✓Teachers and assistants are CPR certified and background checked.
- ✓Parents of enrolled children have immediate access to the center at all times during hours of care.

Paying for weekend care
Weekly tuition depends on your child's age group and schedule, and it is the same at both buildings — call either building for current rates. DES child care assistance is accepted at both buildings, and weekend hours qualify. Read more on our DES child care assistance page.
